About REFLEXIONS

As the world faces mounting energy, climate, and geopolitical challenges; energy stands at the heart of our most pressing global debates. Supply, cost, innovation, sovereignty, and equity are deeply intertwined yet too often addressed in isolation, leading to fragmented policies and conflicting goals between economic development, environmental protection, and social progress.
About REFLEXIONS
REFLEXIONS Conference 2026 (3rd Edition)

Organized by Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris), a world-class institute of science and technology and a leading European center for interdisciplinary research and innovation, the REFLEXIONS conference seeks to break down these silos.

The event will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, on the campus of École Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France.

By embracing a systemic approach to energy, REFLEXIONS brings together science, industry, policymakers, and civil society to explore the interconnections between technological, economic, environmental, and societal dimensions of the energy transition. At the core of this transformation lie engineers and industrial leaders, whose capacity for innovation, systemic thinking, and cross-sector collaboration will shape sustainable, inclusive, and resilient energy solutions for the future.

REFLEXIONS Conference 2026 - 3rd Edition

The 2026 edition of REFLEXIONS will focus on the theme “Energy Transition”, inviting participants to examine how energy systems can evolve to meet global needs while remaining resilient, equitable, and environmentally responsible. This edition is organized with the support of our interdisciplinary center Energy4Climate (E4C).

  • Energy Sustainability addresses the long-term viability of energy systems, tackling challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and pollution.
  • Energy Security focuses on ensuring stable and resilient supply chains and infrastructures, reinforcing sovereignty, and anticipating geopolitical or technological disruptions.
  • Energy Justice calls for fairness and inclusion, questioning who benefits from and who bears the costs of energy systems, how decisions are made, and how past inequalities can be acknowledged and corrected.

Together, these three pillars sustainability, security, and justice form the foundation of a truly systemic and inclusive energy transition. Building on the success of its 2019 and 2023 editions, REFLEXIONS 2026 aims to mobilize collective intelligence and action to accelerate the global shift toward a sustainable energy future and strengthen our collective response to the climate challenge.
